Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve never done Pilates before/ I haven’t done Pilates classes with you before. Where do I start?
    If you are new to Pilates or new to my classes, please arrange a one-to-one appointment on Zoom before you purchase a plan or book classes. You can do this on the Class Details page under Beginners one-to-one. Before our appointment I will send you an Enrolment form which will cover any medical issues and your relevant health background. Please note that the initial appointment cannot go ahead until you have returned this form to me. Once we have completed the initial one-to-one I will advise you on the best class for you, and you can go ahead and purchase the Gold membership plan and start booking classes!
  • What equipment do I need?
    To do the online classes you will need a device that has the Zoom application downloaded (free). Tablets or computers are preferable thanks to the larger screen size, but you could use a mobile phone. You will need a well-lit space large enough to move around and lie down in, and ideally a yoga or Pilates mat for comfort. For some classes we may use resistance bands, Pilates balls, spiky balls or tennis balls and light weights (you can use food tins/cans in place of weights). Some people also like to use thin head cushions and/or yoga blocks to do some of the exercises, but these are personal preference and I can advise accordingly. If you need advice on what equipment to buy, please contact me.
  • Do I have to sign up to the website?
    When you purchase a membership plan you will be asked to sign up to the website as part of the process. This will enable you to book unlimited classes (Gold membership only) and view videos in the Video Library. As a site member you will be able to manage your account, view your bookings and join your booked classes through the membership area of the site. To log in or sign up to the site, use the Log In link in the top right corner. If you wish to book and pay for a one-to-one or single group class, you do not have to sign up to the website, but if you do not sign up you will not be able to access your booking through the site: should you need to cancel or reschedule you will need to contact me directly. If you would like to manage your booking through the website, you will need to sign up to the site PRIOR to purchasing your class. I may use your contact details to inform you of any relevant Pure Pilates news or updates, but will never pass your details to any third parties. Please see our Privacy Policy for how we manage your information.
  • I'm having issues logging in/ I'm having issues with the website
    If you are experiencing problems with the site it may be that clearing your internet browser's cache and history will help. The browser cache and history both retain information about the websites you visit to make it quicker when you visit that website next time; however, clearing both periodically can make your browser work more efficiently and avoid issues with out of date or corrupt data. This article from Which? provides a simple explanation and instructions on how to clear your browser's cache and history.
  • How do I book a class?
    If you want to be able to book unlimited classes, you need to purchase the Gold membership plan. Please note that the Silver membership plan does not include live classes, only access to recorded videos in the Video Library. Once you have purchased the plan, you can book your classes via the Book A Class page. You can also book and pay for a single class without a membership plan. Please note that you will need to sign up to the website (via the 'Log In' link at the top right) if you wish to view, cancel or join the class through your account on the website. If you do one class per week or more, the Gold membership plan is better value than purchasing individual classes and will also give you access to the Video Library.
  • What is the earliest/latest I can book a class?
    You can book a class 4 weeks ahead, and up to 15 minutes before the class. Please be aware that there are limited spaces in the classes so the later you book, the greater the possibility that the class will be full and you will not be able to join the class. If for any reason you do not receive the confirmation email with the class link, and if you have signed up to the website, you can join the class by logging in to the website and going to My Bookings.
  • How do I join the class?
    When you make a booking you will receive a confirmation email which will include the Zoom link to the class. You may need to check your email spam/junk folders. You will receive a reminder 24 hours before the class start time. Please make sure your audio and camera are switched on: this might not happen automatically. If you have signed up to the website you can also join the class by logging in to your account and going to 'My Bookings' where you will see your booked classes.
  • How do I cancel a class?
    If you can no longer attend a class you've booked, you can cancel it up to two hours ahead by logging in to your account on the website and finding the class in the 'My Bookings' section. If you need to cancel after that point please send me a message directly using the Contact Me form or the contact number at the bottom of the class details. Of course I do understand that last minute and unavoidable events happen and that you may not be able to cancel the class in those circumstances, but I do ask that you cancel ahead of time if you are able. In the unlikely event that I need to cancel or reschedule a class, I will contact those who have signed up for the class at the earliest opportunity.
  • Are there classes during school holidays?
    Yes. Online classes will run throughout the year, including through school holidays, but excluding public holidays. In the event that I am away or unable to take live classes I will record classes and make these available to those with a Gold membership plan.
  • What methods of payment can I use?
    You can pay using a credit card, debit card or Paypal. Please be aware that your plan will automatically renew each month unless you cancel it. You may wish to take note of the renewal date for your records. Please contact me directly at noelle@purepilates.uk.com if you need to discuss other methods of payment.
  • How can I change my payment card details?
    Unfortunately there is currently no way to change your credit card details whilst you are still paying for a subscription. If your card details change, you will need to cancel your subscription and re-purchase it using your new card details. You can either do this on your renewal date, or just ensure when you re-purchase your subscription that it begins on your renewal date (you can enter your preferred start date manually). Remember that even when you cancel your subscription it still remains active until your next renewal date. To view your next payment/renewal date, log in to the website and go to My Plans.
  • How do I cancel my membership plan?
    Plans will automatically renew each month unless you choose to cancel. If you wish to cancel your membership plan, please log in to your account and go to ‘My Plans’. Your plan will finish once the current payment month has been completed, until which point you can continue to book classes and access the Video Library. You can resubscribe to a plan at any time.
